Searching for Bone

Cooper and I spent the afternoon looking for sheds.  I started training him on finding sheds after learning about it last year.  It really didn't take too much training with some old sheds before he knew what he was doing and loved finding bone.  This was his first shed of the year - a spike - seriously who finds a shed spike!

Articulation!

Getting ready for some streamer fishing on the rivers.  I've been spending some February evenings tying up some BIG juicy articulated streamers for BIG trout.  Can't wait to fish em.

February Elk Creek Steelhead

Oddly enough, this was our first steelhead pilgrimage to Erie this season.  With the time I spent fishing Oak Orchard, NY and hunting I just never made it to the Erie tribs in the Fall.  All it took was a nice February day and Spence and I decided to make the trek up 79 to get a mid-morning start.  We found the fish to be pretty spread out and we hiked a lot.  We fished for a couple hours and each landed one steelie.  Not a banner day by any stretch, but just having open water in February was a gift in itself.
